Basics
What is a TracFab?
TracFab is an all-terrain tracked mobility chair built to go beyond pavement, grass, gravel, dirt, snow, and uneven ground, so you can stay present for real life.
Who is TracFab built for?
People who want to get outside again, and families who want fewer limitations. TracFab is a fit for many conditions, including spinal injuries, amputations, MS, muscular dystrophy, CP, arthritis, and more.
Every situation is different. If you tell us a little about the terrain and your needs, we can point you to the best setup.
Do I need a prescription?
For direct purchase, no. If you are pursuing funding or reimbursement through a program, they may require documentation. We can provide common paperwork and product info as needed.
Can I try one before buying?
Depending on your location and schedule, demos may be possible. Reach out and tell us where you are and what terrain you want to test, we will tell you the fastest path.
Terrain & Use
What terrain can TracFab handle?
TracFab is designed for uneven outdoor surfaces like grass, gravel, dirt lanes, farm fields, woodland trails, packed snow, and mixed terrain where traditional mobility devices struggle.
- Grass and soft ground
- Gravel and crushed stone
- Dirt roads and trails
- Packed snow and winter conditions
- Ruts, uneven driveways, and mild washouts
Common sense applies. Extremely deep mud, loose sand, ice glare, and steep drop-offs require caution.
Is it good on hills?
Tracked platforms typically outperform wheels on many slopes because they spread weight and maintain traction. That said, safe slope capability depends on surface type, moisture, grade, user weight distribution, and speed.
If you describe your typical hills and terrain, we will give you a realistic recommendation for your property and use case.
Can it go in snow?
Yes, especially on packed snow and typical winter surfaces like farm lanes and driveways. Like any vehicle, deep powder or ice can change the game, drive smart and avoid glare ice.
Can TracFab go on the beach or in sand?
Sand varies a lot. Firm, packed sand is typically easier than soft, dry sand. If beach use is a priority, tell us which beaches and conditions you expect, we will be blunt about what will work and what will not.
Is TracFab waterproof?
TracFab is built for outdoor use and can handle normal wet conditions, rain, and splashes. It is not meant to be submerged or driven through deep water.
Swappable Lithium Batteries & Charging
What makes the battery system different?
Our system is built around quick-change, swappable lithium batteries. When one needs a charge, swap in a fresh one and keep moving, no downtime.
- Fast, simple swaps
- Lightweight compared to legacy battery styles
- Designed for long days and real outdoor use
How long does a charge last?
Range depends on terrain, rider weight, temperature, speed, and driving style. Because everyone uses TracFab differently, we focus on the real advantage, the ability to swap batteries and keep going.
Tell us your terrain and typical outing length and we will help you plan a setup that makes sense.
How do I swap batteries?
- Power down the chair.
- Release and remove the battery using the built-in handle.
- Set the battery into the charger or a safe surface.
- Install a fresh battery and secure it.
- Power on and go.
If you can lift a light suitcase, you can handle our lithium batteries. If lifting is a concern, we can recommend best practices and setups.
How long does it take to charge?
Charge time depends on the charger, battery level, and temperature. We will provide guidance for your specific setup and typical use.
Can I charge at home on a normal outlet?
Yes. Standard household power works for charging. We will confirm the details for your charger and recommend best practices.
Do cold temperatures affect battery performance?
Yes. Cold can reduce available performance on any battery system. The benefit of a swappable setup is you can keep a spare battery warm and swap as needed.
If you plan heavy winter use, tell us your typical temperatures and we will help you set up for it.
How should I store batteries long-term?
Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from extreme heat or freezing conditions. For long-term storage, we will provide a simple checklist so you protect battery life.
Fit, Seating & Comfort
How do I know which model or configuration I need?
We will ask a few quick questions about height, weight, mobility needs, transfer style, typical terrain, and transport needs. Then we recommend the configuration that fits your real life.
Is the seating adjustable?
Yes. TracFab setups can be configured for comfort and control. If you have a specific need, posture support, pressure relief, trunk support, or transfer requirements, tell us and we will build around it.
Can I use my own seat or cushion?
Often yes. Many users already have preferred cushions or support systems. We can advise on compatibility and best practices for safety and comfort.
Is there a harness or seat belt option?
Yes. Secure restraint options are available depending on your seating and support needs. We will recommend what makes sense for your condition and terrain.
Safety
How stable is TracFab?
Tracked stance and low center of gravity help stability on uneven ground. Stability still depends on speed, slope, surface condition, and good judgment.
We will always tell you the safe way to use it for your terrain, not the marketing version.
Can I ride in the rain?
Yes, with standard precautions. Wet surfaces can reduce traction, especially on rock or wood. Slow down and avoid glare conditions.
What maintenance keeps it safe?
- Check tracks and rollers for debris after trail rides.
- Keep moving parts clean and inspect for unusual wear.
- Verify battery connections are secure.
- Do a quick visual check before longer outings.
We provide a simple routine checklist you can follow without being a mechanic.

Do you ship nationwide?

What does delivery look like?
Delivery method depends on configuration and shipping service. We will confirm the exact steps, how it arrives, and what you need ready at delivery.
